Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Support Technician to manage the end-to-end process of PC procurement, receiving, and imaging. This role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate deployment of hardware to employees and maintaining inventory integrity. The ideal candidate will also take ownership of the imaging software and processes, ensuring they are efficient, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational needs.
PC Quoting & Procurement Support
- Gather requirements and prepare quotes for standard PC configurations.
- Coordinate with purchasing to obtain pricing and availability.
Receiving & Inventory Management
- Track, receive, and process incoming hardware shipments.
- Confirm receipt of hardware in ticketing system, asset tag and label equipment.
- Track, store and replenish client inventory.
- Review and update PC setup checklists regularly to ensure they remain current.
- Prepare and coordinate hardware for shipment or onsite technician pickup.
PC Imaging & Deployment
- Perform standard imaging of PCs using company-provided tools and configurations.
- Ensure all devices are updated with the latest patches and software before deployment.
Imaging Software & Process Management
- Manage and maintain imaging software and deployment tools.
- Improve imaging processes and documentation.
- Design and implement scalable imaging and deployment strategies.
- Lead automation efforts for software setup and configuration.
- Evaluate and integrate new imaging technologies.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure standards.
- Own documentation and knowledge base for endpoint provisioning.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with multiple departments to prioritize imaging and deployment schedules.
- Communicate status updates and escalate issues as necessary.
- Provide timely updates and communication to clients throughout the quoting, shipping, and deployment process.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, hardware deployment, or desktop services.
- Experience with PC procurement and vendor coordination is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with PC imaging tools such as MDT, SCCM, Immybot, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Windows OS deployment, driver management, and BIOS configuration.
- Experience managing and maintaining imaging software, including scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Understanding of remote management and documentation tool sets.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
Operational & Soft Skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and process adherence.
- Ability to lift and move hardware (up to 50 lbs) as needed for setup and storage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of processes and tools.
